项目为群马县深山中一座私人住宅改造。房主为一对从城市搬来的年轻夫妇。为确保在有限的停留时间内，提升居住体验，并尽情享受在这里的生活，屋主夫妇选择将这一栋拥有60年历史的双层高木屋进行改造。
Renovation of a private house deep in the mountains of Gunma Prefecture. The house is for a young couple who moved from the city. They chose to renovate a 60-year-old two-story wooden house because they wanted to enjoy their life in this area more than its performance, since their life in the area is limited.

房屋位于深山之中，因小区内各建筑间隔距离较近，加上住宅周围被繁茂的绿植所环绕，因此即使在白天，内部光线也相对昏暗。为了最大限度地利用自然光线，设计团队将客厅的上层进行拆除，创造了一个中庭空间。光线可像高悬的侧灯一样从原本位于二楼的房间窗户照射进室内。此外，团队还沿着中庭新建了一面两层楼高的墙壁，并在墙壁上设置了几扇窗户，通过以上改造，过去的衣橱空间摇身一变成为了楼梯间旁通透敞亮的房间。
Although deep in the mountains, the house was surrounded by dense greenery and was dimly lit even during the daytime because of the short distance between neighboring buildings in the residential area. To maximize the use of natural light, the upper floor of the living room was demolished to create an atrium space. Light poured in like high sidelight from the windows of the room that was originally on the second floor. A new two-story wall was built along the atrium. The wall has several openings, and the space that used to be a closet has become a bright room along the stairwell.

正如前面所提及，设计团队决定将房屋中曾作为固定框架的物件，去除掉原有的饰面，应用在楼梯间区域。为了打造这一处楼梯空间，团队还使用激光雷达对房屋内的固定框架进行了三维测量。房屋内部拥有各种尺寸的固定框架，设计师随机地将各种物件叠加，并统一涂上一层淡绿色，旨在为翻新后营造一种焕然一新的绿意。随机排列的“绿色矩形”将用作墙壁、栏杆和固定装置，而被多种“绿色矩形”框架包围的中庭空间也将作为房屋历史的缩影融入生活。

As mentioned above, we decided to use the fixtures used in the house in the stairwell, stripped of their finishes and left only as a base. In order to design the stairwell, we used Lidar to 3D surveying the fixtures in the house. The small house has various sizes of fixtures, and I randomly layered the various substrate configurations and decided to apply a pastel green. The pastel green was intended to create an image of new green after the renovation, as opposed to the dense green before the renovation. The randomly arranged “green rectangles” functioned as walls, railings, and fixtures. The atrium space surrounded by the “green rectangles” brings the history of the house into life as a shadow.
