An Asian-themed noodle bar in Kfar-Sabba, Isreal, offers diners a dynamic experience that might seem similar to what you’d expect inside a spaceship. Inside, conventional restaurant design has been dismantled; instead, private and public areas are mixed to encourage social interaction. An open kitchen invites diners to see their food being prepared. Technology is also a key feature in the design; a LED lighting screens allows for video art shows to play constantly.

In the centre, a 3D origami-style structure folds around the kitchen, wrapping it like a cloud. ‘We did not settle for just exposing the kitchen,’ say designers at BK Architects. ‘We needed to radiate out the energies which burst within its counter tops, woks and grills. The highly reflective black membrane finish of the restaurant ceiling amplifies and reflects anything that happens on the floor.’
