空间布局
在平面布局设计上把一层规划为三个区块：客厅、过厅、餐厅（厨房），打破了传统的客厅与餐厅相连的格局，而是把餐厅、厨房及入户三个功能结合在一起。把折叠门关上，整个楼层就是相对独立、互不干涉的二个大空间。再把客厅的窗户改造成为几扇大落地折叠门。通过大宽幅的窗景将室外景观，借景入室，充分沐浴着大自然的恩惠。二层借用客厅挑空，加建一个禅房，通过可完全打开的折叠飘窗，与客厅相互融合，形成可分可合的空间秩序关系，既拓展了空间，也保持了原客厅的挑空复式结构。

风格定位
如果您硬是要把本案风格叫作“中式”的话，我倒建议称之为“泛东方意境的中式风格”，没有典型的中式元素符号的堆砌，而是重在取其“意”,轻在取其“形”。在色彩的运用上采取了消色的处理手法，吸收了东方禅意的元素，没有过多的色彩，淡定禅意之居，风情恬淡，意境悠远。

材料质感
不变的是材质的单一色相，变化的是材质的质感及细部处理，材料的质感和色彩关系演绎着相应于空间构架的秩序关系，来映喻事物可以一体却呈多面之复杂性格的用材哲学，引领参观者在空间行进中，领悟一即一切、一切即一之无分别心、无对立之最高境界……

Space Layout
The room is planned into three parts, living room, hall, and dining room (kitchen). The design adopts to combine the three functions of dining room, kitchen and entrance together to break the traditional conjoint style of living room and dining room. With the folding door colsed, the whole house is divided into two individual spaces. The window of the living room is designed to be several french folding doors. The outdoor view is extended indoor through a wide window to show the grace of the nature. The living room with a zen room built-in on the second floor is a whole space with the folding window of the zen room open. The living room and the zen room form a separable and also combinable space, which extends the room and remains the duplex structure of the living room.
Style Positioning
If you would like to call the design “Chinese Style”, I prefer to call it “Chinese Style with Some Oriental Concept”. With no piling-up of typical Chinese symbols, the design is concentrated on the “meaning” but ignores the “shape”. Decoloration is adoppted in the color treatment way. With no overmuch colors, the design abstracts the oriental zen elements to build the house into House of Zen which is peaceful and meaningful.
Material and Space
The simple color of the material is accordant while the texture and the detail treatment is various. The texture and the color play their parts in accordance with the space structure to show the material philosophy that one thing is a whole but have different sides. While marching forward, the viewers are led to understand the highest level that one is the whole while the whole is just one with no differentiation and no opposition.
